It is rumoured that various British retailers have told CVG 80GB PS3 SKUs may be on their way to Britain by the end of this summer. Reports from CVG say employees from music store HMV and wholesalers Costco are hearing the 80GB models are likely to hit in a couple of months.
Sony’s official response to this rumour is: “There’s no official word on an 80GB PS3 coming to the UK. Sony does not comment on rumours and speculation.” Having said that there is no flat out denial so there could still be something in the works.
80GB Sony PlayStation 3’s are the next logical step in Europe, as with increasing installs and extra features like PlayTV arriving soon there will obviously be high demand for extra HDD space.
