A big hit in Japan, Wii Fit is on its way stateside, and makers Namco want to capitalise on this quite unique balance board combined with its own skiing game. Today Namco Bandai Games America have announced We Ski, a game that supports the Wii motion controls and uses the Balance Board.
A game for up to four players it features in excess of twelve runs including Black Diamonds and bunny slopes. With We Ski you get photography, moguls and slaloms, ski school and freestyle along with other events and even night time skiing. Players are allowed to use their own Mii characters or even create a new one from the games customisable options.
The Director of marketing and public relations for Namco Bandai Games America Inc, Todd Thorson had this to say: “We are thrilled to be the first publisher to offer a realistic and enjoyable skiing experience that can also support the new Wii Balance Board. Namco Bandai is working to entertain both casual gamers and hardcore enthusiasts with a recreation of a beloved sport and pastime.”We Ski has a release port for Spring 08 and Nintendo announced recently at the Game Developers Conference that Wii Fit will be in North America by 19th May.
